Searching for a sustainable getaway?
As the new year begins, many of us begin to plan or even book our next holiday away.
But would you be able to recognise if the property/holiday home you check into next, is sustainable?
Airbnb Host, Tiffany, shares why sustainable hosting is more attractive than you think:
Sustainable holiday, why?
At the start, I asked the same question too!
Trying to stay sustainable while owning an Airbnb, especially in London, can be daunting.
But in all honesty, it actually isn’t.
Adopting everyday practices is just the beginning. You’ll find there are plenty of ways to reduce, reuse and recycle from your holiday property. Here is some great advice from Airbnb. More.
Easy steps I took
Whilst staying on top of their sustainability plans, I also ensure the customer endures the best stay possible.
Here are a few steps that make my London property a favourite among customers:
- Vintage Items: Why have to fork out hundreds or possibly thousands of pounds worth of new furniture when you can find old refurbished ones full of character? See here.
- Airbnb Management: I rely on this company in London, to ensure my home is running to my eco-friendly standards when I’m not even there!
- Enjoy the surroundings: London can be a tricky place when promoting sustainable living, I love outsourcing fresh fruit from local farmers, it gives that extra touch to the customer and supports local communities.
What are my goals for 2023
The next stage of running a sustainable Airbnb is promoting and presenting the idea to potential guests.
Also, other Airbnb hosts who are following can also understand the impact of sustainability in their homes too!
